Product Overview

SAGMTM BulletKitTM is small airway epithelial cell growth medium that is serum-free and has been optimized to grow human small airway epithelial cells (SAEC) from normal and diseased tissue.

Published research shows SAGMTMTM BulletKitTM Small Airway Epithelial Cell Growth Medium is also suitable to support co-culture experiments with primary mammary epithelial cells (HMEC) as well as established breast cancer cell lines such as MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. Refer to the relevant published data in the 'Data' tab.

Co-culture Experiments with Lonza's Small Airway Epithelial Cells and SAGMTM BulletKitTM Media

Data Courtesy of Furukawa, et al. Lonza's SAEC cells were co-cultured with primary normal mammary epithelial cells, breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 in Lonza's SAGMTM BulletKitTM Growth Media. Breast cancer cell lines showed differences in morphology and proliferation rates in the presence of small airway epithelial cells. The image above shows phase contrast imaging with a fluorescent (red) overlay of MCF-7 cell line. MCF-7 cell lines survived as tight clusters in SAGMTM Media. When co-cultured with Lonza's primary SAECs, MCF-7 cells demonstrated enhanced growth all the while staying clustered.
