Product Overview
Poietics® Normal Human Preadipocytes (HprAD) are isolated from subcutaneous or visceral fat from normal (non-diabetic) donors. Preadipocytes from diabetic donors are available as a separate product.

Cryopreserved Poietics® Normal Human Preadipocytes (HprAD) are guaranteed to contain ≥1 million or ≥4 million (subcutaneous only) cells per ampoule and test positive for adipogenic differentiation. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis is provided for each cell lot purchased.
Recommended Media and Reagents
- PGMTM -2 Preadipocyte Growth Medium-2 BulletKit® Medium provides both a proliferation medium and a differentiation medium guaranteed to induce differentiation into mature, functionally active adipocytes. Each bottle of the PGM-2TM BulletKit® Medium contains enough differentiation medium to fully differentiate 10 million preadipocytes (10 complete 96-well plates) into mature, functionally active adipocytes.
The PGMTM-2 Medium is offered as a BulletKit® Medium (catalog no. PT-8002) which includes both the basal medium and the necessary supplements for both proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes. The basal medium (PGMTM-2 Basal Medium; catalog no. PT-8202) and the necessary supplements (PGMTM-2 SingleQuot® Kit; catalog no. PT-9502) can also be purchased individually.
Lonza guarantees the performance of Clonetics®/Poietics® cells only if appropriate Clonetics®/Poietics® media and reagents are used exclusively and the recommended storage and use protocols are followed. Any modifications made to the recommended cell systems including the use of alternative media, reagents or protocols, will void cell and media performance guarantees.
