Hematopoietic primary cells play a vital role in advancing in vitro research as they are central players in development and testing of immunotherapies.  Cell lines are unable to provide the variety in donor requirements. Even when robust and effective internal isolation processes are in place, sourcing from the right donors, isolating cells and characterizing them can be time-consuming.

We offer cell types from a variety of tissue sources ranging from unprocessed bone marrow, leukopaks to cryopreserved cells isolated from bone marrow, cord blood, and peripheral blood. Cryopreserved cells can eliminate the hassles of finding donors and doing tedious cell isolations because all you have to do is thaw and culture.

Media for immune cells

Lonza provides a suite of quality media for most hematopoietic cell types including dendritic cells, lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes. X-VIVO® Serum-free Hematopoietic Cell Media Series comprises of a suite of research grade serum free media designed to support the proliferation of different immune cells. It only contains human derived components and provide serum free conditions for the culture of multiple human immune cell types.

For e.g X-VIVO® 15 Media can be used to support the growth of CD3+ cells from peripheral blood and in in vitro assays such as T cell proliferation and Matched T:DC cell assays. In addition, X-VIVO® 15 Media provides a serum-free environment for the expansion of HUT-78 and related human lymphocytic cell lines.


X-VIVO® 15 Serum-free Hematopoietic Cell Medium

X-VIVO® 15 Media support the proliferation of purified CD3+ cells isolated from peripheral blood and human tumors. X-VIVO® 15 Media can also be used to support the growth of human monocytes, macrophage cells and cell lines, PBL, granulocytes, and natural killer (NK) cells.

X-VIVO® 20 Serum-free Hematopoietic Cell Medium

X-VIVO® 20 Medium is optimized to support the generation of lymphokine activated killer (LAK) cells from monocyte depleted peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) at high density. It may also be used as a growth medium for PBL and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL).

X-VIVO® 10 Serum-free Hematopoietic Cell Medium

TheraPEAK® X-VIVO®  10 Media formulations are designed to support slower growing, less mature cells such as hematopoietic stem cells and natural killer cells. It also supports the generation of Lymphokine activated killer (LAK) cells and peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL).
