Product Overview

Bone marrow CD34+ cells contain hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and are known to differentiate into all the various blood cell types.

Purity and Viability You Can Count On
Lonza bone marrow CD34+ cells are isolated from bone marrow mononuclear cells (MNC) by positive immunomagnetic separation and are guaranteed to have a purity of ≥90%. They are guaranteed to contain either ≥100,000, ≥300,000, ≥500,000, ≥1 million, or ≥2 million viable cells per ampoule depending on the product ordered. HIV-1, hepatitis C, and hepatitis B are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis is provided for each cell lot purchased. Fresh bone marrow CD34+ cells are offered in various sizes and require a minimum order quantity of two vials per donor. Please contact Customer Service for information on sizes and pricing for fresh cells.

Supported by an Optimized Culture System
HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium is recommended for optimal performance in serum-free culturing (additional cytokines may be necessary depending on application) Alternative media containing serum may also be acceptable. Please contact Scientific Support for serum containing media recommendations.

Choices in Cell Type and Tissue Source
Complex research often calls for flexibility. That's why we offer isolated and purified bone marrow CD34+ cells as well as unprocessed bone marrow in case you need to isolate your own cells. Bone marrow CD34+ cells are ideal for studies requiring a large number of cells from a single donor or studies investigating differences in cells of donors of various ages, genders, or ethnicities. If however, your studies demand more naïve cells, cord blood CD34+ cells may be the better choice.

Lonza guarantees the performance of CloneticsTM/PoieticsTM cells only if appropriate CloneticsTM/PoieticsTM media and reagents are used exclusively and the recommended storage and use protocols are followed. Any modifications made to the recommended cell systems including the use of alternative media, reagents or protocols, will void cell and media performance guarantees. If you need assistance in selecting the appropriate media, reagents, or protocol, please contact Lonza Scientific Support.
