Product Overview
Cardiac Endothelial Cells include cells isolated from the aorta (HAEC), coronary artery (HCAEC), pulmonary artery (HPAEC), iliac artery (HIAEC), and microvascular cardiac cells (HMVEC-C). Additional donor characteristics including hypertension, or smoking history may be available by contacting Scientific Support. Cardiac fibroblasts from matched donors are available for certain lots.
CloneticsTM Cells, Medium and Reagents are quality tested together and guaranteed to give optimum performance as a complete cell system. Cryopreserved HAECs are shipped in third passage.
Cryopreserved CloneticsTM Human Aortic Endothelial Cells (HAEC) are guaranteed through 15 population doublings, express CD31/105, von Williebrand Factor VIII, and are positive for acetyated low density lipoprotein uptake. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis is provided for each cell lot purchased.

Diabetes-related Differential Gene Expression in HAECs and ADSCs
With the prevalence of diabetes growing worldwide, the availability of primary human cells from diabetic donors is critical to increase research and knowledge about the disease at a cellular level. In this study, we sought to identify genes differentially regulated in diabetic type 1 and type 2 adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs). -
Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells Induce Gene Expression in Aortic Endothelial Cells and Participate in In Vitro Angiogenesis
Here, we show that the presence of aortic smooth muscle cells does have an impact on induction of genes expressed in aortic endothelial cells. -

HAEC – Human Aortic Endothelial Cells
Human aortic endothelial cells (CC-2535) were immuno histochemically stained with von Willebrand Factor antibody (Sigma, F3520) used at 1:200. Secondary antibody used was VECTDI1094 DyLight 594 (Vector Laboratories). Cells were also satined with CD31/PECAM-1 antibody (R&D Systems, BBA7) used at 1:100 (green). Secondary antibody used to detect was VECTDI2488 DyLight 488 (Vector Laboratories) Hoechst nuclear stain (blue).
HAEC – Human Aortic Endothelial Cells
Human aortic endothelial cells were immunohistochemically stained with VE Cadherin antibody (Santa Cruz,sc-28644) used at 1:200 dilution (red). Secondary antibody used was VECTDI1094 DyLight 594 (Vector Laboratories). Nuclei were stained with Hoechst stain at 1:10,000 dilution.
