Product Overview

This is a bulk configuration of the KQCLTM Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Endotoxin Detection Assay and is available as a made-to-order product. This bulk kit configuration does not contain endotoxin and requires that E50-643L is ordered separately. Testing of specific lots for making larger product reserves is possible. Please contact your local sales representative for further details. The Kinetic-QCLTM Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Assay is a quantitative, kinetic assay for the detection of Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin. A sample is mixed with the reconstituted LAL reagent in a 96-well plate and placed in an incubating plate reader that measures absorbance at 405 nm. The reaction is automatically monitored over time for the appearance of a yellow color.

In the presence of endotoxin, the lysate will begin to cleave the chromogenic substrate, causing the solution to become yellow. The time required for the change is inversely proportional to the amount of endotoxin present. The concentration of unknown samples can then be calculated from a standard curve. It is the chromogenic nature of the Kinetic-QCLTM Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Assay that makes it the most appropriate choice for testing small volume parenterals, vaccines, antibiotics and biologicals. The Kinetic-QCLTM Assay is less impacted by inhibitory products which may interfere with the clotting mechanism in turbidimetric and gel clot assays. With a sensitivity range of 0.005 EU/ml - 50.0 EU/ml, the Kinetic-QCLTM Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Assay is the most sensitive of the LAL assays.

  • Troubleshooting Guide - Testing Oil Solutions with the PYROGENT™-5000 and Kinetic-QCL™ Assays

Oil-based parenterals have always been a challenge in endotoxin detection assays. This Tech Tip describes a liquid-liquid extraction procedure that can be used to remove the endotoxin from the oil into an aqueous phase, which can then be tested with the PYROGENT™-5000 or Kinetic-QCL™ Assays.
