Product Overview

Please note: HPGM is being discontinued.  In its place we recommend one of the X-VivoTM Cell Culture Media varieties.

HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium is a chemically defined, serum-free, xeno-free media developed to support (with the addition of appropriate cytokines) the proliferation and differentiation of CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) and hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC). HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium does not contain any exogenous growth factors, artificial stimulators of cellular proliferation, or undefined supplements. HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium's formulation is complete and contains human albumin, recombinant human insulin, and pasteurized human transferrin. HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium may be further supplemented with additional cytokines and growth factors depending on applications.

HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium has been successfully used in the culturing of CD34+ cells from a variety of sources including bone marrow, cord blood, peripheral blood, and fetal liver and a variety of species including both mouse and humans. HPGMTM Hematopoietic Growth Medium has been successfully used in the differentiation of CD34+ cells down a variety of lineages including erythroid and megakaryocyte.

Lonza guarantees the performance of CloneticsTM/PoieticsTM cells only if appropriate CloneticsTM/PoieticsTM media and reagents are used exclusively and the recommended storage and use protocols are followed. Any modifications made to the recommended cell systems including the use of alternative media, reagents or protocols, will void cell and media performance guarantees. If you need assistance in selecting the appropriate media, reagents, or protocol, please contact Lonza Scientific Support.
