Guinea Pig Complement
The complement is supplied lyophilized. Reconstitute for use with accompanying restoring solution.
The complement is obtained from a closed colony of SPF guinea pigs. The complement has a titer of approximately 250 C’H50 units/ml, as determined by the LCBF test.
Caution: Variation in titer may be found with different lots of hemolysin sheep erythrocytes, and storage conditions. Therefore, complement should be titrated in each complement fixation assay.
The hemolysin is used to sensitize the sheep red blood cells to free complement in the complement fixation assay. Supplied as rabbit anti-sheep erythrocyte stromata serum with 50% glycerin
